Former Vice President Kamala Harris appeared in San Francisco on Wednesday night and called Donald Trump a complete disaster. She told a room full of Democrat donors that she ignored Trump’s economic turmoil and the constitution.
It was Kamala’s first full political speech since losing to Trump in 2024, and she didn’t waste anytime soon. “It’s an agenda,” she said. “They are a narrow, selfish vision of America that punish the True Terror, support loyalty, acquire their power, and leave everyone to protect themselves.”
Kamala gave a speech at the Palace Hotel and spoke for Emelge America, a group that helps Democrat women take office. She used the platform to call for Trump’s record, saying that his reckless tariff decision created what he described as “the biggest artificial economic crisis in modern presidential history.”
Kamala said the direct results are rising costs of basic products, tanking retirement savings, and a volatile job market. She said the country is being pushed towards a “recession” due to the same chaotic economic ideas that it had failed for the first time.
Harris denounces Trump’s policies and calls for resistance
Kamala’s speech was given in his second run through Trump’s White House. She did not provide any new information about her own future in politics, but she made it clear that she is still active. Her delivery was tight and concentrated, and she was directly aiming for Trump’s first 100 days of office.
Kamala accused him of violating federal court orders and obstructing government programs that helped people survive. This was not subtle. She said Trump has retreated from the US alliance and demolished a system intended to hold power accountable.
It was the second public event in California in just a few weeks. She is reportedly weighing whether to run for California governor next year or try another presidency in 2028. However, the speech did not mention her next move. It totally attacked Trump and stuck to supporting the people of her party who “speak with moral clarity” in her words.
She told the crowd that American checks and balances have “begun to lean over” under the weight of Trump’s actions. Kamala warned that the country is in a full-scale constitutional crisis and said Democrats need to continue to unite.
Kamala has pushed her theme of “courage is contagious” once again. This time they say that fear may be contagious, but we’ll stand up to it. “They rely on the notion that if they can make some people scared, it will have a calm impact on others,” Kamala said. “What they’re overlooking is that fear isn’t just infectious. Courage is contagious.”
Speech raises the governor’s race stake as party watch
Kamala praised Democrats such as Bernie Sanders, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Cory Booker and Chris Van Hollen for their recent trip to push Trump back. She mentioned it on the “Oligarchy of Battle” tour where Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez have attracted a huge progressive crowd.
Booker nodded in a lengthy Senate speech, and Van Hollen helped Kilmer Abrego Garcia return to the United States. She said these Democrats continue to live their fight with “moral clarity about this moment.”
She also did not forget to unite herself to climb America. Kamala helped inspire the group when she defeated San Franciscoda sitting in 2003. She reminded the crowd of her connection, using the moment to push her bigger points. This fight isn’t over, and Democrats need to be prepared.
Kamala It is reportedly I got a massive standing ovation in the room. The people in her hometown were standing up. But even with that hype, no one knows what she’s planning. She gave herself until the end of the summer and decided whether to go to the governor’s seat or to stay reserved and wait for the national stage.
People close to her think she is leaning towards the governor’s race, especially given the frequency she has appeared in California recently. Still, not everyone is excited about it. Politico – uc Berkeley Citrin Center polls found that many insiders had a rather cold response to her running ideas.
