Web3 gaming content creators face new challenges as YouTube introduces new regulations that may impact blockchain and NFT gaming content. YouTube Revises Policy to Allow Gambling with NFTs and In-Game Items.
Web3 Game Creator videos may be blocked, restricted, or removed.
What exactly has changed?
YouTube’s new policy now considers digital objects with real-world value to be equivalent to gambling chips. All videos that display or encourage gambling, trading, or acquiring assets that can be bought and sold for money are subject to gambling regulations.
YouTube’s new policy is a direct attack on Web3 games and CS skins.
Starting November 17th, videos promoting NFTs, crypto tokens, or in-game skins with real value will be slapped with gambling violations.
End of an era… I discovered NFTs through YT.

This includes:
- Gameplay showing NFT or token rewards
- Videos that include staking or “play and earn” mechanics
- Tutorial showing wallet connection or token purchase
- Sponsored content promoting marketplaces, mints, or token drops
Even if you don’t need to use real money, videos featuring casino-style gameplay such as slots, roulette, and loot boxes are restricted by YouTube.
Web3 Creator Risks
YouTube says this isn’t a complete ban on Web3 gaming content, but it’s easy to see why creators aren’t happy about it. From November 17th, content that appears to involve betting or profiting from digital assets may result in a warning, removal, or strike.
YouTube will ban cryptocurrencies and NFTs starting November 17th
But not completely.
YouTube just changed the rules, which will directly impact blockchain, NFT, and Web3 gaming content across YouTube and Google.

Old videos are also not safe. YouTube will review past uploads based on new rules. These don’t count as strikes, but the affected videos may be hidden or age-restricted. For many Web3 creators, this means fewer views, fewer advertising opportunities, and less reach.
There are big consequences when there are no clear rules.
The regulations do not clearly distinguish between regular gaming and gambling. NFT tournaments and tokenized rewards are often included in many blockchain games, blurring the lines between them. As a creator, you may not be marketing gambling, but by showing how to win and bet, you may be raising flags.
YouTube has reclassified NFTs and crypto games as gambling.
Starting November 17th, content that shows staking, trading, or earning digital assets with real value will be flagged. Tutorials about connecting wallets may also result in a strike.
Do you know a Web3 creator? They need to see…

YouTube hasn’t disclosed how it filters AI-generated content or human-generated content. Therefore, creators do not yet know what is acceptable. The most important thing at this point is to edit your content. You should never use gambling terms, cut out any risky movies, and focus on play rather than asset value.
conclusion
YouTube’s new rules mark a turning point for Web3 game creators. Although the platform says it is protecting its users, the changes could silence many of the small creators who have helped grow this space. Whether this is a temporary setback or the beginning of tighter controls, Web3 gaming content will never be the same after November 17, 2025.
