
   
Japanese investment company Metaplanet has been rounded up into the top four publicly listed Bitcoin holders worldwide after obtaining an additional 5,268 BTC worth around $600 million.
The Tokyo Exchange-owned company purchased coins for an average price of $116,000 (17.39 million yen) per Bitcoin, bringing its total stockpile to 30,823 btc.
According to data from Bitcoin Treasuries, the latest purchases will boost Bitcoin Standard Treasury’s Metaplanet, claiming a fourth spot among corporate Bitcoin holders, tracking strategies, Mara Holdings, and XXI.
According to Metaplanet CEO Simon Gerovich, the company’s Bitcoin revenue generation segment recorded quarterly revenue of $16.16 million (¥2.438 billion), a growth of 115.7% since the second quarter of 2025.

 Wednesday’s BTC purchase follows Metaplanet’s biggest Bitcoin purchase, the $633 million BTC acquisition announced on September 21.
Metaplanet achieved 95.6% in the first quarter of 2025 and 129.4% in the second quarter of 2025, and 129.4% in the second quarter of 2025, according to the statement.
Last month, Metaplanet raised $1.4 billion by issuing 385 million shares, and announced that revenues have been allocated for more Bitcoin investments.
Recently, the company also established its Miami-based subsidiary Metaplanet Income Corp., which is based at $15 million in capital and expanded its growing “Bitcoin revenue” line to manage the operation of derivatives apart from its financing activities.
Public companies have more than 1 million btc Bitcoin holdings
bitcointreasuries.net data reveals that public companies currently own approximately 1,039,178 bitcoins. This accounts for almost 5% of the total supply of the highest crypto.
Saylor’s Treasury Company, Strategy, holds the largest Bitcoin stash at 640,031 BTC, while Mara Holdings is stable in the second position at 52,477 BTC after mining 705 BTC in August.
Overall, Treasury Bitcoin, which includes exchange-traded funds (ETFs), government, exchanges and private companies, is worth more than 3.8 million btc and worth more than $440 billion.
The Altcoin-based Ministry of Finance has also gained considerable traction. The ether-based Treasury, including reserve entities and Exchange Operating Funds (ETFs), holds 1214 million ETH, worth $52 billion, data tracker Strategic ETH Reserve show.
