Barcelona held the European Blockchain Convention on October 16th-17th, 2025, attracting over 6,000 attendees in the 11th year of the event. The conference includes more than 300 speakers from traditional banks and crypto companies, as well as networking programs that already have over 10,000 meetings between participants.
The European blockchain convention will begin in Barcelona next month and will have its largest lineup to date. The two-day event will gather from executives (legacy institutions and crypto first companies) from both sides of the financial split for consultations on institutional adoption, emerging technologies and product launches.

Finance meets crypto
JP Morgan, BNP Paribas, Banco Santander and BBVA are sending executives to talk with Bitpanda, Galaxy, CoinFund, OKX and bullish teams. As with blockchain projects like Algorand, asset managers KKR and Bitwise Asset Management will join the roster.
Victoria Gago, who started EBC with Daniel Salmeron, commented on the growth.
After overwhelmingly positive feedback from previous editions, we have seen an extraordinary increase in registration and interest from exhibitors.
Salmeron added:
The participation of so many traditional banks and financial institutions has shown optimism about the future of crypto and digital assets.
Large matchmaking
The organizers built a system that combines one-on-one meeting participants before the meeting began. Over 10,000 connections have been scheduled so far. This is the largest pre-placed networking push in Europe’s blockchain conferences. The goal is to help attendees meet the right people rather than expecting a chance encounter.
Meeting topics
Session tackle talk, stable infrastructure, AI integration, institutional ETF demand, blockchain scaling (L1/L2), decentralized infrastructure networks, redevelopment, Web3 design, and corporate Bitcoin strategies.

Competitions run in parallel
The startup battle returns to its third year, with 50 European blockchain startups pitching live. A 48-hour hackathon runs alongside the main conference, drawing in over 200 developers, over 30 mentors and 20 teams.
Barcelona time after
The schedule includes beach parties at sunset, early morning coastal run, wine tasting and meals at Michelin-recognized restaurants. In October, there will also be the Sitges Film Festival, the Salón Náutico Maritime Exhibition and the Csio Barcelona Equestrian event.
