The viral piece “Nobody Sausage” started as a way for Brazilian artist Cael Cabral to “learn more about character animation” and has since amassed 33 million followers and billions of views across social media platforms including TikTok, X, and Instagram.
Built around the philosophy that “anyone can be anything,” it’s no wonder that Nobody Sausage has embraced Web3’s community-first philosophy and launched its own token, NOBODY, to “bring the community together.”
Of course, the world of cryptocurrencies is littered with failed attempts by mainstream brands to migrate to Web3. So Nobody Sausage decided to do things differently and reached out to the team behind the NFT collection Claynosaurz to ensure that their cryptocurrency efforts were built on a history of “grassroots community engagement.”

“When Nobody Sausage came out, we never expected the biggest character brand on social media to say, ‘Let’s partner with us,'” Pelekis said. The two were a natural fit, and Cabral was drawn to the Claynosaurz team’s 3D animation background and Web3 credentials.
The big question, Pelekis said, is how to translate Nobody Sausage’s community of millions of followers into the Web3 context. “First they need to cling to something tangible,” he explained.
“It might not even be a token,” he added, as the concept of digital ownership can be “a little bit vague” to Web3 newcomers. Instead, Heeboo is working to build the Nobody Sausage brand “in the real world, through physical products and hosting great events,” he said.

Pelekis said the token is a “two-way channel” between the brand as a whole and its community of fans. “Social media is often somewhere in the middle. It’s like a marketing channel, and the value it adds to either side is intangible and temporary. You can’t really see it, but it’s important and necessary.”
Converting that value into tokens will require “digital integration, a UX that’s familiar to most people,” as well as building brand strategies and consumer products that “build tangible associations with the brand for the general public,” he added. With Heebo’s help, Nobody Sausage is expected to appear in AAA video games, events, and “numerous Web3 partnerships,” he added.
“At Web3, owning something gives you great power and allows you to build community and culture,” Pelekis says. “Our principle is that the fans need to be involved as well,” he added. “With so much competition in the content space, in the product space, and even in the digital products and games space, we cannot afford to take our fans for granted.”
