Kucoin is certified at ISO 27701 and SOC 2 Type II levels. This indicates that additional regulations regarding crypto exchanges have been implemented, so they are ready to adapt to the updated rules.
ISO 27701 is based on Kucoin’s security framework and $2 billion trust project
Based on a press release, the certification is based on Kucoin’s previous ISO 27001:2022 information security awareness. It also includes SoC 2 Type II for operational control. Together, these certifications give exchanges a layered approach to data protection, compliance and platform reliability.
ISO 27701 was related to how businesses deal with personal data in a responsible way. With Kucoin, there are more stricter regulations regarding the collection, use, storage and deletion of user information.
Crypto Exchange said the step coincides with the $2 billion trust project launched earlier this year. The initiative aims to expand transparency, regulatory cooperation and infrastructure resilience across Kucoin’s global platform. By protecting ISO 27701, Kucoin reinforces its platform’s reliability and its commitment to protect sensitive user data.
This certification follows stricter regulations for crypto exchanges established by regulators around the world. Kucoin shows it is ready to comply with regulatory standards around the world. In the US, the SEC and CFTC have opened the door to find crypto transactions, highlighting the rapid evolution of surveillance in the sector.
Kucoin explained that privacy management is embedded in global operations. Data protection includes all data collection processes, including data confiscation. Encrypt, scan internally, mask data, and violate emergency plans.
Tools such as data protection impact assessments and purchasing service reviews have also been added to Kucoin. The company said it considers this to be essential for its user confidence and compete with top platforms such as Coinbase and Binance.
Kucoin will enable user control and strengthen its privacy framework to meet regulations
Alexis Niu, head of global data protection at Kucoin, called the results a significant advancement. She said the certification confirms Kucoin’s end-to-end data control, risk assessment and responsive safeguards against violations. She added that the certification indicates that privacy is a central part of Kucoin’s user trust strategy.
Niu further noted that Kucoin’s privacy framework gives users authority by giving them greater control over their personal information. The exchange also streamlined the response to data subjects’ rights requests through applications and support services.
Kucoin also said these developments are part of a broader plan to prepare for evolving regulatory demands. The UK and the US are also moving to coordinate crypto regulations, highlighting a global push for consistent surveillance in the digital asset sector.
Additionally, the company said privacy and compliance will be key factors in building a safe and sustainable global ecosystem of digital assets.
