Payments Company American Express has launched a blockchain-based stamp for its customers as a digital travel memorabilia.
According to the company’s website, each travel stamp is stored as an inappropriate token for ERC-721 on an Ethereum Layer-2 basis on an Ethereum Layer-2 basis.

Each stamp can be customized to highlight the best experience from each trip, whether it’s a special attraction, outstanding meals, hotel stays or favorite activities, Amex said.
Only those who have a US Amex Consumer Card linked to their online account are eligible for Amex Passports and are not permitted to transfer NFTs.
He added that each stamp will only display the country or region of the stamp, the description of the stamp, and the date the stamp was obtained, with no personal information and travel details displayed on the base.
Data from Basescan, Basescan, block explorer, shows that the Amex Travel Stamp smart contract was created 25 days ago.
This development is the latest example of a public blockchain that helps businesses and their users store data securely without a centralized server.
Last month, the US Department of Commerce said it would begin publishing economic statistics, including gross domestic product data, on the blockchain.

A recent AMEX survey shows that demand for new travel stamp solutions is also strong.
Another 56% said they missed receiving their passport stamps when they arrived in their new country.
Amex Travel Stamps can be shared on social media or saved to your camera roll, and travel that you booked Amex up to two years ago will be automatically added to your customers.

The crypto travel industry remains relatively niche, but has been picking up in recent months.

In February, Crypto-Native Travel Platform Travala integrated 2.2 million hotels crypto payment options from Trivago, a hotel meta-search engine that allows users to compare accommodation prices on various booking sites.
Travala’s data in May shows that crypto users usually spend more than three times more on average hotel stays, typically staying in certain locations that come with a flexible, remote working lifestyle.
Meanwhile, Triple-A Data says that in 2024, 14% of crypto transactions were spent on travel and hospitality, while more airlines began to accept crypto for bookings.
